A Fading Hope Chapter 7

A Fading Hope: Chapter Seven: Writing on the wall

Song- Angel of Darkness

(Chorus)
Angel Of Darkness
Angel Of Darkness
The World Is In Your Hand
But I Will Fight Until The End
Angel Of Darkness
Angel Of Darkness
Don't Follow Your Command
But I Will Fight
And I Will Stand

The Love Is Lost
Beauty And Light
Have Vanished From Garden Of Delight
The Dreams Are Gone
Midnight Has Come
The Darkness Is Our New Kingdom
Yeah,Yeah

Chorus

Now Realize The Stars They Die
Darkness Has Fallen In Paradise
But We'll Be Strong And We Will Fight
Against The Creatures Of The Night
Chorus

This one I've liked for a few years now, I first came across it in a youtube video for Warrior cats.  I thought it worked- understanding that dark is coming, that there's something very bad, but a determination to fight it.
yeah.

Story-
So, like I said last week' if you're lucky.' you were lucky. me, not so much. I had intended to write during the three hours between my bus ride and flight home.... my flight was to leave at three. so I write till then, and packed everything up, and waited. and waited.
and then got the notebook out and kept writing, because we didn't leave until quarter past 7.
And then there was an unplanned fuel stop.
It was a mess, but there was a really nice old lady next to me, and we talked for a while, and she was really cool. She kinda kept me sane, and gave me some food so I could take my meds on time. :)
but yeah, I was supposed to me hom at 4 CA time... and we landed at 9:30.
Last time I fly Allegiant Air.

Anyway, onto the story.
So I wrote and I wrote and I wrote, and it all just seemed to flow. I thought I did a fair job involving all the digimon this time around. I usually have to edit them in, but not this time, so I was proud of that.
I was worried, a bit, that there was too much telling, too much talking, not enough action or story, but..I think it turned out alright.
I was particularly proud of my little throw away line aout the locker- I got the idea from the background lines in season 2 episode 13, about a missing locker and swimming pool and jelly donuts. meh. I hope it made you giggle. It made me giggle.

Also, I listened to a lot of music while writing, mostly the instrumental bits mentioned earlier.

So, what did you all think of the Prophecy? that gave me a fair bit of trouble! I wanted it to be vague enough, for plot point reasons as well as so the kids would be confused a bit, but also clear enough for you to understand it, more or less. The Irish and Tolkien bits (Crestoflight3, you got it!) were stand ins for runes that Izzy couldn't translate at all, and the blanks were what he hadn't yet gotten- hew picked out what he could and was about to start on the rest when( oh, no, I'm not telling you!)
This was, by the way, what Devimon meant from the Prologue.

Again, I'd like to thank everyone for all their kind words, they really do mean the world to me.

Update

Hey, Thanks all, for reading. Means a lot to me.
I've started working on the next chapter- woot!
I'm in my last week of school now, so finals, but I should have some time to write at the airport and on the plane, and with any luck you'll have your chapter by the first of August.
From then on, I should be posting regularly, since I'm going to be taking a much lighter course load my next semester, and the pills they have me on are working wonders.
Thanks again for all your support!
H.

Edit: as of 7/19
Finished with finals, andIi've got about a page of story written- If you're lucky, I should get the rest done tomorrow while I'm on the bus, over my three hour layover, or on the plane ride. Yay!

Edit: as of 7/26
I've been sick, but I've also been writing. Sneak peek!

Since Yolei was in Cody’s first class, she had filled him in in hushed tones about the morning’s adventure and the unknown fate of their friend. Cody’d whispered back that he was sorry he hadn’t been home, hadn’t been there to help, but that he’d been out with him mother and grandfather- it was an annual tradition. Yolei noted that he’d seemed even quieter and more solemn than normal, and hadn’t pushed it. Her mind was already worrying the issue of her new responsibility like a bad tooth, and she could hardly think of anything else.
She did not make an appearance at lunch that day.  After several long minutes of waiting, Davis and Cody searched the school for her, their digimon clutched under arms.  Kari and T.K. ignored their trays of food, calling Tai and T.K’s mother for news and updates. There was little to report- Tai had not wanted to speak about his visit to the Izumi parents, and Matt had not changed at all. The tests had been inconclusive, and doctors were still as confused as ever about the teenager’s condition.
It came as little surprise to the boys that they found their violet haired friend tucked away in at a corner desk of the school computer lab, the second place they’d checked, after the library. The room was noisy with students printing off last minute  book reports and essays, but Yolei didn’t seem to hear. She sat, in front of the charging laptop, her face red, her eyes shut, her fists clenched. Even Davis hardly dared to speak- he was acting so unlike himself these past few days that he scared himself- but everything was so ... so wrong. “Yolei?”
Should have the rest done by friday night, posted by saturday Morning. :D

Deleted Scene : Izzy and parents

Hi. I'm pretty sure only one person is reading this. In any case, hi!
First, another note: I'm up to 29 breakdowns for the month of June, so I couldn't wait any longer and went to my school's therapist and doctor. And I'm on meds for mood swings/ depression and sleep panic. So life should get a lot easier....as soon as I'm done with my latest nightmare, a ten page paper due on tuesday (and no extra time for me, even with a therapist's note. I hate my teacher.) Yeah, he's getting a very sarcastic( he never said it was a formal paper, or gave any guidelines) 5 page paper, because I don't want to fail, but I can't get ten pages! Anyway, I wrote this because I was going to go crazy if I didn't write something, and I had nothing better to do in the various waiting rooms. So, I give you a little deleted scene! Note: these are Izzy's parents names according to the wiki. I'm amused by his dad's name, Masami, mostly because of the recent Legend of Korra shipping wars.

Izzy cleared his throat, and his mother looked up. " Yes, Izzy? what is it?"
"Mom, I need to talk to you and Dad." Yoshie Izumi put down the dishtowel glass she'd been drying.
" Of course. is this about...?" she trailed off.
" Yes. the Digital world."
"Masami!" She called as she sat at the table, and a moment later, Izzy's father left his study,  joining his wife and adopted son in the kitchen.
"What's this about, Son?" he asked gently.
" Earlier today," Izzy began, "Matt was hurt in the digital world. Badly. We don't really know what happened, or why it's affecting him like this, and we have to figure it out."
"Matt? Matt Ishida? From across the street?" Mrs. Izumi pressed a hand to her mouth.
"I remember him... he was at the battle, wasn't he? With the angels?" Mr. Izumi asked, frowning.
"Yes. He's one of the digidestined. T.K's brother. He..he's in the hospital now, but they can't figure out what's wrong, and they won't, it's not from Earth, their tests are useless. His only chance," it hurt to say those words, "is for us to find out how to fix it from the Digital world, find out how to stop whatever caused it. That's what I need to talk to you about." Izzy paused, looking at his parents.
"It'll take time to solve this.  I'll be ok," he started. "Really, I will. I'll have Tentomon with me, and we've been on our own before. and I've already spoken to my teachers- well, emailed. I'm ahead in most of my classes, and there are no tests or projects coming up, except for a programing test, but I've already worked out with Mr. Sato, and I can do it online - the Digital world has excellent internet reception and-"
" Izzy, wait." Masami Izumi held up a hand. " You want to go to the digital world, and stay for a while, is that it?"
The teenager nodded.
"How... How long?" his mother asked softly, rising.
"I'm not sure. Two or three days, maybe longer. With any luck, that will be long enough to find out what triggered the gears, how they work, and it'll also help for one of us to be on guard, in case there's another sighting. I need to do this." Already, Izzy knew that he was going, whether or not his parents agreed, but he was hoping...
"OK." Izzy's mother nodded. " If you need to go, you need to go. " She looked to Masami, still seated. "We won't stop you."
Izzy's father nodded. " Your mother's right. If this is what you want to do, what you need to, we won't stand in your way."
The redhead nodded quickly. "Thanks." He was suddenly even more grateful that his parents were so accepting and supportive of his role in the Digital world. That they weren't like Tai's parents, or Mimi's, or Joe's (although Joe's didn't really know so the point was moot.)
" I'll make you some  lunches, some food, to take." Izzy's mother turned to the fridge, stopping. "Tentomon liked.. what was it?" She  tried to think back to the last time the digimon had been in the human world, but it had been several months. "Was it the chicken?"
"Tentomon likes anything you make, Mom." Izzy grinned at the memory.
As she gathered leftovers and plastic tupperwear containers, Yoshie paused. "When? Are you leaving...now?"
Izzy shook his head. " I want to try and find the best location for a base, where I'll be of best use and Tentomon will be able to stay on guard. There will be a lot of places to cover. Sora might be able to- no, she's got that tennis tournament. Oh, and I'll need to reroute the feeds from Ken's camera system to Yolei's computer..." he trailed off. " Sorry. No, not tonight. Tomorrow, after school."
His parents nodded.
"Oh, Izzy!" his mother embraced him. " Be careful out there."
"I will, Mom." Izzy said, hugging her back.
His father stood, joining the hug. " Make us proud, Son."
He nodded, then stepped back. " I have a lot to do, before..."
"Of course. We love you, Izzy."
"I love you, too"
